Ephraim⁵ Whitney (Moses⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹, Thomas^A), son of Moses⁴ and Lydia (Taylor) Whitney was born 1 Mar 1723/24 at Littleton, MA^[1] and died 9 Nov 1796 at Chesterfield, NH, at age 72^[2].

Ephraim married Jane Bancroft, daughter of John and Mary (Clark) Bancroft, 16 Jan 1745/46 at Lunenburg, MA.

He was also known as Lt. Ephraim Whitney. He was signed a petition on 31 Dec 1746 at Lunenburg, MA. He lived in 1776 at Chesterfield, NH; called "Lt."

Jane Bancroft was born on 8 Jul 1722 at Lynn, MA.

i.	Moses6 Whitney, b. 11 Jan 1747; m. Sarah Geary 16 Aug 1766 at Petersham, MA; wife "of Luninburgh;" m. Sarah Geary 20 Nov 1766 at Lunenburg, MA; husband "of Petersham;" d. 1824 at Raymond, ME. He lived in 1776 at Raymond, ME.
ii.	Ephraim Whitney, b. 12 Aug 1749; Marriage banns for he and Rhoda Winslow were published 4 Jul 1772 at Petersham, MA. He lived in 1776 at Chesterfield, NH.
iii.	Molley Whitney, b. 25 Sep 1755; m. James Cutler circa 1778; d. circa 1855 at Dover, VT.
