Ruggles Nahum⁸ Whitney (Abel⁷, James⁶, Samuel⁵, Samuel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), born Newtown, Connecticut, 6 Apr 1826; married there, 9 Jun 1848, Jane Sherman; born Roxbury, Connecticut, 19 Aug 1826. He was justice of the peace and town clerk of Florence. He died 6 Nov 1865; resided Florence, Ohio.

Children of Ruggles Nahum⁸ Whitney:

i.	Lewis Edwin9 Whitney, born 3 Sep 1850; died 3 Oct 1851.
ii.	Evangeline Emily Whitney, born 23 Aug 1852; resided with mother, 613 Green Ave., Brooklyn, New York, in 1874.
