Family:Whitney, Jonathan (1783-1876)

Jonathan⁶ Whitney (Jonathan⁵, James⁴, Joseph³, Jonathan², John¹), son of Jonathan⁵ and Abigail (Hemminway) Whitney, was born 6 Apr 1783, Windsor, VT; died 1876, Poweshiek County, IA.

He married, 1820, Mansfield, OH, Miranda Marvin.

He was born in the Green Mountain State; his descendants say at Windsor. He migrated to Ohio, where he worked on a farm and where he was married. Soon after their marriage they moved to Indiana, about Brown county. He finally moved to Iowa, where he died. He resided VT, New London, OH, Brown County, IN, and Poweshiek County, IA.
