Family:Whitney, Edwin Goldsmith (1812-1880)

Edwin Goldsmith⁸ Whitney (Jacob⁷, Jacob⁶, Abraham⁵, Abraham⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), born 30 Nov 1812; married July, 1834, Maria Carver.

He was for many years president of First National bank there; very wealthy and influential all along the Ohio river in the active early years of developments in that region. He died 3 Dec 1880; resided Madison, Indiana.

Children of Edwin Goldsmith⁸ and Maria (Carver) Whitney:

i.	Brainard W.9 Whitney; resided New York City.
