John7 Whitney (Israel6, Joshua5, Daniel4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Israel6 and Lucy (Mahan) Whitney, was born 9 Apr 1820, Worcester, MA,[1] and died 21 Mar 1854, Worcester, MA.
He married, 20 Nov 1847, Worcester, MA, Marietta Parks,[2] daughter of Isaac and Catherine (-----) Parks. She was born 18 Nov 1826, Boston, MA. She married secondly, 17 Apr 1862, Worcester, MA, Charles W. Smith, son of Bradley and Sarah (-----) Smith. He was born about 10 Jan 1814, Paxton, MA, and died 31 Aug 1872, Worcester, MA, aged 58 years 7 months 21 days.
John Whitney was born in Worcester, where he always resided. He was a well-to-do farmer. He died intestate and the widow was appointed guardian to the children. The only data on the Worcester probate records is 3 Mar 1860, when the widow made a report of guardian's sale of real estate for the two minor children. He resided Worcester, MA.
