Thomas, miller, Lynn, frm. May 14, 1634. Propr., juryman. He deposed in 1662, about Mr. Humphrey's mill at L, which he tended 2 or 3 years; never kept a better mill in England. Was then ae. about 60 years. Ch. Thomas, Clement, (ae. about 37 yrs. in 1662,) Martha, wife of Richard Whitney, ment. by son Thomas, [Elizabeth, wife of John] Symonds. He admin. on the est. of his son Thomas 24 (4) 1673.

Richard, Lynn, 1645. Wife Susanna, dau. of Thomas Newhall, who. names her and her ch. in his will. He deposed in Prob. court in 1691, ae. 74 years. Record in Book II, "copied out of the old book." Ch. Sarah Whitney; gr. ch. [Westol] Cogswell, Hannah Parker, Hannah Goodell and the ch. of son Moses.
HODGKINS, HODGKINSON, HODGS-KINS, HOSKINS,
Mr. William, planter, Plymouth, frm. 1634, juryman 1636. Propr. He m. Nov. 2, 1636, Sarah Cushman. He m. 21 Dec. 1638, Ann Hynes. Rem. to Ipswich about 1641. He deposed Sept. 29, 1691, ae. about 69 years; had occupied beach privileges fifty years. Placed his dau. Sarah with Thomas and Winnifride Whitney 2 Jan. 1643, to remain till 20 years of age. Wife Ann deposed 2 March, 1641; had lived before marriage at the house of Mr. Derby, father of John and Richard D. Ch. -- b. 30 Nov. 1647, Samuel b. 8 Aug. 1654.

Lewis, Roxbury, memb. chh. about 1640. Rem. to Watertown about 1651. Wife Ann; ch. Phebe b. Jan. 21, 1645, d. 6 (5) 1650, Shubael b. 14 (8) 1651. He d. April 11, 1684. Will mentions wife Anna, ch. Shubael, Josiah and Lydia Whitney; friend and bro. John Stone.

Robert, shoemaker, Boston, adm. chh. 10 (6) 1634, frm. Sept. 3, 1634. Sold land at Muddy River in 1645 and 1653. Wife Mary adm. chh. 4 (8) 1645.Will prob. July 27, 1659; wife Mary; son Nathaniel; dau. Ruth Whitney and her eldest son; dau. Tabitha Abda and her son Matthew; dau. Sarah Mason and her son Nathaniel. [Reg. IX, 138.]

John, Plymouth, apprenticed for 7 years July 25, 1633, to John Jenny; time shortened to 5 years. He m. 7 Dec. 1638, Bennett Moorecock. He was a planter; had suit in court 5 March, 1643. Ch. Jeremiah b. about 1645, appr. to Thomas Whitney and wife Jan. 30, 1649; Joseph b. 16 April, 1652.

Thomas, Watertown, propr. 1647. He deposed in 1656, ae. about 38 years. Rem. to Groton in 1662; had liberty to erect a mill. Wife Mary; ch. Thomas, adult in 1662, perhaps Abigail, (m. Sept. 30, 1672, Joshua Whitney,) Elizabeth b. Jan. 5, 1656, William b. 26 (12) 1658. Mary T. d. 29 (2) 1674, ae. 54.

John, ae. 35, with Ellen, ae. 30, Richard, ae. (9), Nathaniel, ae. 8, Thomas, ae. 6, and Jonathan, ae. 1, came in the Elizabeth and Ann in April, 1635. Settled at Watertown; frm. March 3, 1635-6. Tailor; propr., town officer. Bought land 6 (2) 1653. His wife Elinor d. May 11, 1659; he m. 2, Sept. 29, 1659, Judah (Judith) Clement. Cid. rec. in war. Joshua b. 15 (5) 1635, Caleb bur. 12 (5) 1640, Benjamin b. 6 (4) 1643. He d. a widower, June 1, 1673, ae. about 84. Will dated April 3, 1673, prob. 17 (4) beq. to sons John, Richard, Thomas, Jonathan, Joshua and Benjamin. [See Genealogy.]
Thomas, Plymouth, in Court, 1636. Took oath of fidelity Jan. 6, 1636-7; bought house and land 30 Aug. 1644. Wife Winni-fred d. 23 July, 1660. His will dated .... 1673, prob. in March, 1673-4, beq. to son Jeremiah, gr. ch. Thomas, wife Patience.

James, Hingham, farmer, propr., mariner, gave letter of attorney 6 (8) 1647, to Richard Betscomb of Hing. to collect a legacy due him from Thomas Wyton of Hooke Norton, Oxfordshire, yeoman, deceased. [A.] Frm. May 30, 1660. He m. Dec. 30, 1647, Mary, dau. of John Beal; she d. 12 Dec. 1696, ae. 74 years. Ch. James b. 10 (2) 1649, d. 11 (9) 1650, James b. July 15, 1651, Matthew b. Oct. 30, 1653, John b. Dec. 2, 1655, David and Jonathan b. and d. 1658, Enoch b. March 8, 1659-60, Thomas b. May 18, 1662, Mary b. April 29 1664, (m. 1, Isaac Wilder, 2, Barak Jordan, 3, Thomas Sayer). He d. 26 April, 1710. Will dated 29 Sept. 1708; beq. his extensive property to three sons and one dau. then living, and to the seven children of his dec. son Thomas.
Thomas, ae. 36, with Audrey, ae. 45, Jeremy, ae. 8, came in the Elizabeth and Ann in May, 1635. We may surmise that he is Thomas, of Plymouth, propr. 1638. His dau.-in-law, Mary Morecock, was appr. to Richard Sparrow and Pandora his wife for 9 years, 24 June, 1639. [See also Bennett and Nicholas Morecock.] He m. 22 Nov. 1639, Winnyfride Harding.
