p. 17, 8: Samuel Whitney was not a son of John² and Elizabeth (Smith) Whitney of Norwalk. Instead he was a son of Nathaniel³ and Sarah (Hagar) Whitney of Watertown, MA. This is proven by the records of the settlement of Nathaniel's estate.
