Anna Stevens (Damaris⁴ Whitney, Moses³, Richard², John¹), daughter of Cyprian and Damaris⁴ (Whitney) Stevens, was born 19 Mar 1732/3, Rutland, MA, and died 24 Mar 1811, Guilford, VT.

She married, 5 Feb 1755, Holden, MA, Samuel Nichols, son of William and Abigail (Kendall) Nichols. He was born 15 Feb 1728, Reading, MA, and died 13 Sep 1777, Guilford, VT.

Samuel Nichols, sometimes called "Esq.", is mentioned repeatedly in the town meeting records of Guilford, VT, along with his sons Ephraim and Jonas.

iv.	Anna Nichols, b. 19 Oct 1760, Guilford, VT; supposedly the same Anna Nichols who d. 16 Sep 1840, and who m. Sep 1774, Bridport, VT, Abel Rice. [NOTE: The tender age of this bride makes this identification questionable.]
v.	Abigail Nichols, b. 1752, Halifax, VT; no further record.
vi.	Asa Nichols, b. 1754, Halifax, VT; no further record.
vii.	Ebenezer Nichols, b. 5 Nov 1755, Halifax, VT; no further record.

ix.	Thaddeus Nichols, b. 1760, Halifax, VT; no further record.

NOTE: The dates for the last five children either are before the parents' marriage, or conflict with the dates of the first four children. Furthermore, they were born in a different town than that in which the parents apparently resided. This casts some doubt that they were, in fact, the children of these parents.
