Aaron8 Whitney (Benjamin7, Aaron6, Daniel5, Daniel4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Benjamin7 and Mary (Stark) Whitney, was born 13 Feb 1820, northern part of Big Flats, NY, and died 17 Mar 1893.

He married, 13 Feb 1839, northern part of Big Flats, NY, Lucretia Gilbert, daughter of Andrew Winton and Anna Comstock (Stratton) Gilbert. She was born 30 Nov 1823, Windsor, NY, and died about 15 Oct 1907, Big Flats, NY.

Phoenix says the following:

". . . a farmer and carpenter . . . . They settled on a part of his father's farm, in Big Flats, and were living there in Apr 1874. He has been a justice of the peace."

Mary Elizabeth Whitney, b. 13 May 1848, NY; d. 13 Mar 1883; m. 3 May 1871, Binghamton, NY, William Edgar Haines,1 son of Lewis and Esther (Lecost) Haines, b. 19 Nov 1836, Warwick, NY; a harness-maker and carriage-trimmer. He enlisted, as band-leader, in the 4th Regiment of New York State Volunteers, served for three months, procured a substitute, and was discharged. They settled in Centre Street, Horseheads, NY, and were living there in 1874. He has, by a former marriage, one daughter, Sarah Gertrude Haines, born 27 Nov 1859, Millport, NY.
v. Augusta Medora Whitney, b. 19 May 1852, NY; d. 22 Oct 1867, Big Flats, NY; bur. in the family cemetery on Sing-Sing Creek, Big Flats, NY.
