Abel⁷ Hoar alias Whitney (Abigail⁶, Jonathan⁵, Jonathan⁴, Richard³, Richard², John¹), son of Benjamin and Abigail⁶ (Whitney) Hoar, was born 25 Jun 1793, Londonderry, VT, and died said Jun 1880.

His name was changed from Hoar to Whitney in 1819.

He married firstly, about 1820, Jackson, NY, Permelia Howard.

He married secondly, about 1850, Ann Marie Howard. She was born 11 Jun 1820, Jackson, NY, and died 26 Jun 1890, Crab Orchard, NE.
