Abram A.9 Whitney (William8, Ezekiel Hoyt7, Ezekiel6, Ezekiel5, Ezekiel4, Ebenezer3, Richard2, John1), son of [Family:Whitney, William H. (1807-1863)|William8 and Sarah (Walden/Waldon/Weldon) Whitney]], was born about 1831, New York, NY, and died 10 Apr 1904, Brooklyn, NY, aged 74 years, of endocarditis.[1] He was buried in Hyde Park, NY.

He married firstly, before 1855, Margaret M. Sleight, daughter of .... She was born 1832, Dutchess Co., NY, and died 1862. She was buried in the Reformed Dutch Church Cemetery, Hyde Park, NY.[2]

He married secondly, about 1870, Virgelia (Mansfield) Platt, daughter of James Liverius and Charlotte Amanda (Latham) Platt. She was born about 1836, or Jun 1837, NY, and died after 1900, and apparently after 1904. She had married firstly, 16 Jan 1856, Linlithgo Church, Livingtson, NY, Lewis A. Platt.[3] They must have been divorced, since he married secondly, 7 Mar 1868, Andover, MA, Mary A. Haley.

In Jun 1863, Abraham A. Whitney was registered for the draft, at Clinton, NY, aged 33 years, carpenter, white, single, born NY.[4]

The 1891 city directory of Hudson, NY, shows:

Whitney Abram A., clerk, St. Charles Hotel.[5]

At death he was living at 727 Monroe St., was married, and his occupation was sexton.

i. M. A.10 Whitney (daughter), b. ca. 1855, NY; d. aft. 1860.
ii. Herbert Lesley Whitney, b. Aug 1856, NY; d. 1936; m.(1) ca. 1879, Adora Frances "Dollie" Burgert; m.(2) bef. 1915, Eva M. Allen.

Abram A. and Virgelia (Mansfield)(Platt) Whitney had no children.

Lewis A. and Virgelia (Mansfield) Platt had no children.
