Amasa Whitney ([prob.] Ephraim), probably son of Ephraim Whitney, was born about 1801 in New York and died about 1870.

He married, about 1838, Cortland County, NY, Isabella Courtright, daughter of Joseph and Margaret (-----) Courtright. She was born in 1819 and died 14 Jan 1894.

After 1840 the couple moved to Bingham Township, Potter Co., PA.

He was a farmer.
