Family:Whitney, Anna (1736-1762)
Anna5 Whitney (Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), daughter of Benjamin4 and Abigail (Bridge) Whitney, was born 23 or 27 Oct 1736, Marlborough, MA,[1] was baptized 8 May 1737, Marlborough, MA,[2] and died 2 Jan 1762.
Marriage intentions were published 27 Aug 1761, Boston, MA, for her and William Bowes.[3] She married, 22 Dec 1761, Boston, MA, William Bowes, son of Rev. Nicholas and Lucy (Hancock) Bowes, "of Boston", as his first wife. He was born 3 Dec 1734, and died Apr 1805, London, England. He married secondly, Mary Stoddard.
Pierce says the following:[4]
- ANN [WHITNEY], b. Oct. 28, 1736; m. Dec. 22, 1761, William BOWES, of Boston. She d.s.p. Jan. 2, 1762. He was b. Dec. 3, 1734, and d. at London, Eng., Apr. 1805; he m. for second wife Mary STODDARD, and had several children.
She was admitted to the Hollis Street Church, Boston, MA, 16 Sep 1753.[5]
William and Anna5 (Whitney) Bowes had no children.
