Arayla7 Whitney (Elijah6, Elijah5, Elijah4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Elijah6 and Hannah (Woods) Whitney, also known as Riley7 Whitney, was born 17 Aug 1804, Williamstown, VT,[1] and died 11 Mar 1894, Waterbury, VT, aged 89 years 6 months 25 days.[2]

He married, firstly, 10 April 1827, Williamstown, VT, Mabel Rood,[3] daughter of John Rood. She was born circa 1808, Williamstown or Brookfield, VT, and died 11 Sep 1828, Brookfield, VT.[4]

He married, secondly, 2 Oct 1833, Moretown, VT, Huldah H. Mayo,[5] daughter of Ebenezer and Lucy (Lawson) Mayo.[6] She was born 19 Aug 1809, Moretown, VT,[7] and died 29 July 1868, Waterbury, VT[8] or July 1869, Waterbury, VT, aged 59 years of consumption.[9]

He married, thirdly, 31 Jan 1870, Williamstown, VT, Mary A. (Pepper) Townsend, widow of Royal B. Townsend (1810-1861), daughter of Ezra & Sarah "Sally" (Bell) Pepper. She was born 3 March 1819, Washington, VT, and died of pneumonia, 16 Oct 1893, Barre, VT.[10]

Riley had a brother Abel Whitney,[11] who resided Worcester, Washington Co., VT.

i. Mabel8 Whitney, b. Sep 1828, Williamstown, VT; d. 30 Apr 1909, Williamstown, VT; m. 18 Nov 1852, Williamstown, VT, Albern Briggs.[12] They resided in Williamstown, VT.

Children of Riley and Huldah H. (Mayo) Whitney:

i. Nancy Jane8 Whitney, b. 21 Aug 1836, Walden, VT;[13] d. 25 Oct 1922, Middlesex VT; m. 15 Jan 1863, Waterbury, VT, George P. Miles, son of Portus Miles.[14] They resided Middlesex, VT.
ii. Silsby Whitney, b. ca. 1839, VT; m. Mary Jane Knapp,.
iii. Emily Whitney, b. ca. 11 Mar 1841, Williamstown, VT; d. 27 Feb 1874, Stowe, VT, aged 32 years 11 months 16 days;[15] m. Orlo B. Towne. They resided Stowe, VT.
iv. George S. Whitney, b. ca. 1844, Williamstown, VT, d. unknown.
v. Julius H. Whitney, b. 3 Apr 1846, Williamstown, VT; m. Lucy Ann Burley/Burleigh.
