Barzillai J.8 Whitney (William Knowlton7, John Smith6, Thomas5, Thomas4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of William Knowlton7 and Deborah (Woodward) Whitney, was born 21 Apr 1822, Athol, MA,[1] and died 6 Jan 1858, Fitchburg, MA, or Athol, MA, aged 36 years, of consumption.[2]
He married, 15 Jun 1845, Orange, MA, Eliza M. Frye,[3] daughter of James and Sophia (Wilder) Frye. She was born about Apr 1825, Winchendon, MA, and died 24 Sep 1855, Athol, MA, aged 30 years 5 months, of disease of heart.[4]
He, of Fitchburg, MA, married secondly, 19 Aug 1857, Keene, NH, Harriet A. Wright,[5] of Swanzey, NH, daughter of William and Rachel (Underwood) Wright. She was born 15 May 1830, Swanzey, NH, and died unknown.
