Caleb7 Whitney (Jonathan6, Caleb5, Jonathan4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Jonathan6 and Lucy (Wheeler) Whitney, was born 28 Dec 1800, Sterling, MA,[1] and died 24 Jan 1847, Sterling, MA, aged 47 years. He was buried in Chocksett Burial Ground, Sterling, MA.[2]

He married, 7 Mar 1824, Sterling, MA, Abigail R. Sargent, "both of Sterling",[3] daughter of Amos and Betsey (Livermore) Sargent. She was born between about 1801, Princeton, MA, and died 7 Apr 1864, Sterling, MA, aged 63 years, of hemorrhage from lungs.[4]

iv. Leonard M. Whitney, b. ca. 20 Aug 1830, Sterling, MA; m. Elizabeth A. Monroe.
v. Mary C. Whitney, b. ca. 1833, MA; m. 13 Jun 1855, Worcester, MA, James F. Raymond, b. ca. 1833, West Boylston, MA, son of James H. and Elizabeth (Raymore) Raymond.[11]
vi. John H. Whitney, b. ca. 30 Mar 1838, Sterling, MA; m. Jennie N. Derby.
vii. Lucy E. Whitney, b. ca. 1842, Sterling, MA; m. 20 Nov 1882, Worcester, MA, Dr. John R. Burns, b. ca. 1847, Ashland, MA, son of John S. and Catharine (-----) Burns;[12] not found in censuses of 1850, 1855, 1860, 1865, 1870, 1880, or 1900. It seems possible that she was adopted.
