Charles Sumner9 Whitney (Stephen Thomas8, Freeman7, Enoch6, Moses5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Stephen Thomas8 and Catherine (Brown) Whitney was born 6 May 1853, and died 10 Jun 1928. He was buried in Harrison Village Cemetery, Harrison, ME.
He married, 28 or 29 Aug 1877, Harrison, ME, Anna Decker Ridlon,[1] daughter of Rev. Gideon T. and Lydia Ellen (Sawyer) Ridlon. She was born 28 Apr 1851, Buxton, ME.

i. Harvey Sumner10 Whitney, b. 17 Apr 1878, Harrison, ME;[2] m. Flossie Belle Winslow of Bridgton, b. Aug. 5, 1884. Children: a. Donald Harvey11 Whitney, b. 5 Feb 1908.
ii. Flora Ethel Whitney, b. 27 Sep 1883. She graduated from Bridgton Academy in class of 1902, and was two years in Bridgewater Normal School. She has taught one year in Harrison and two years in the public school at Bridgewater, MA. Her present engagement as teacher, is in a school at Melrose, MA.
