David⁵ Whitney (Nathan⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Nathan⁴ and Lydia (Young) Whitney, was born 8 Apr 1732, Biddeford, ME,^[1] and died after 1790.

He married firstly, 1 Feb 1754, Falmouth, ME, Hannah Brown,^[2] both "of Gorham", daughter of Jesse and Elizabeth (Walker) Brown. She was born 24 May 1731, Eastham, MA, and died before Oct 1760.

Marriage intentions were published 11 Oct 1760, Falmouth, ME, for him "of Gorham" and his second wife Abigail Knight "of Falmouth". He married secondly, before 17 Aug 1761, Abigail Knight.^[3] She was born probably Falmouth, ME.

Marriage intentions were published 26 Nov 1761, Falmouth, ME, for him "of Gorham T[own]" and his third wife Rebecca Edgecom "of Falmouth". He married thirdly, before 18 Nov 1762, Rebecca Edgecom.^[4] Probably she was the Rebecca Robinson who married firstly, 21 Mar 1748, Portland, ME, Thomas Edgecomb, son of Thomas and Sarah (Fletcher) Edgecomb. Her parentage is unknown.

He marrried fourthly, 29 Jun 1785, Gorham, ME, Lydia Moore "of Buxton".^[5] Nothing further is known of her.

He lived in 1763 at Gorham, ME.

ii.	Jesse Whitney, b. 18 or 28 Mar 1758;[7] m.(1) Mary Sawyer; m.(2) Charity Nowell.
