David8 Whitney (Jonathan7, Jonathan6, Joseph5, Benjamin4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of Jonathan7 and Lucy (Parks) Whitney, was born 6 Nov 1806, Watertown, MA, and died 23 Aug 1882, Lowell, MA, aged 75 years 9 months 17 days, of heart disease, lumber dealer.[1]

He married, 16 Sep 1826, Southborough, MA, Catherine P. Horn, daughter of Windsor and Matilda (Nichols) Horne. She was born 7 Apr 1805, Southbridge, MA, and died 10 Sep 1888, Lowell, MA, aged 83 years, of inflammation of the bowels.[2]

He resided Acton, Middlesex Village, Westford, Lowell, and Chelmsford, MA.

David, Catherine and three of their children: Mary Ann, Mary Elizabeth, and Albert are buried in Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, MA.

v. Albert Whitney, b. 31 Oct 1839, Westford, MA;[8] d. 17 Jul 1875, Lowell, MA, aged 35 years 8 months 16 days, of consumption; lumber dealer.[9]
vi. Mary Ann Whitney, b. 15 Sep 1842, Westford, MA;[10] d. 15 Jun 1843, Lowell, MA< aged 9 months.[11]
vii. Mary Elizabeth Whitney, b. 6 Aug 1844; d. 25 Oct 1865.[12]
