Dempsey6 Whitney (Ebenezer5, Elnathan4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Ebenezer5 and Jemima (Powell) Whitney, was born 5 May 1784, Wayne Co., NC.
He married, 5 Aug 1811, Randolph Co., NC, Sarah Hoogen. "Dempcy Whitney" and "Sarah Hodgen" obtained a marriage bond 5 Aug 1811, Randolph Co., NC. The bondsman was John Needham and the witness was Jesse Harper.[1]
Children of Dempsey6 and Sarah (Hoogen) Whitney, alleged, possibly incomplete:
i. Anson7 Whitney, b. 12 Mar 1811, Randolph Co., NC; m. Mary Huffman. ii. Elijah Whitney, b. 7 Nov 1816, Randolph Co., NC; m.(1) Elizabeth Moon; m.(2) Ruth Ann McManus Cox.
