Ebenezer7 Whitney, Jr. (Ebenezer6, Samuel5, Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Ebenezer6 and Mehitable (Robinson) Whitney, was born 18 May 1800, Litchfield, ME,[1] and died 30 Apr 1883, West Gardiner, ME, aged 83 years[2] (also recorded as dying 30 Apr 1883, Boston, MA, aged 83 years, of old age).[3]
Intentions of marriage were published on 26 Jan 1831, Pittson, ME, for him and Louisa Gowell.[4] He married, probably 1 Mar 1831, Bowdoin, ME, Louisa Gowell,[5] daughter of John and Asenath (Southard) Gowell. She was born 14 Feb 1802, Litchfield, ME, and died 21 Apr 1878, West Gardiner, ME, aged 76 years.[6]
They resided Pittston, Litchfield and West Gardiner, ME.
He served as a private in Company F, 5th Regiment of Maine Volunteers. He enlisted 18 Jun 1861, Portland, ME, and was honorably discharged on 3 Oct 1861.
