Family:Whitney, Edmund (1831-1871)

Edmund⁷ Whitney (Lewis⁶, Josiah⁵, Jeremiah⁴, Nathan³, John², Henry¹), son of Lewis⁶ and Sarah (Kitchen) Whitney, was born 27 May 1831, Grimsby, Canada West, and died 6 Feb 1871, Seaforth, ON. He was buried in the Baptist Cemetery, New Scotland, ON.

He married, 27 May 1853, Hamilton, Canada West, Frances Ann Mortimer, daughter of George and Jane (Peacock) Mortimer. She was born 29 Feb 1836, Springfield, OH, and died after 1873.

Phoenix says the following:

. . . a tinsmith . . . . They settled in Galt, C.W.; thence went to Brantford, C.W.; and in June 1857, moved to Geneva, Wis. In Feb. 1868, he returned to Canada, settling in Seaforth, where he died 6 Feb. 1871. He was buried in the Baptist Cemetery at New Scotland, Ontario. His widow lived at Seaforth in 1873."
