Family:Whitney, Edward Woods (1793-1856)

Edward Woods⁷ Whitney (Timothy⁶, Thomas⁵, Thomas⁴, Eleazer³, Thomas², John¹), son of Timothy⁶ and Phebe (Reed) Whitney, was born 29 Jun 1793, Marlborough, MA,^[1] and died 30 Apr 1856, Royalston, MA, aged 62 years 10 months 1 day, of lung fever, stone cutter.^[2]

Intentions of marriage were published, 12 Oct 1812, Phillipston, for him and Rhoda Whittemore "of Royalston".^[3] He "of Gerry" married firstly, 8 Nov 1812, Royalston, MA, Rhoda Whitmore,^[4] daughter of Enoch and Sally (Wait) Whittemore. She was born about 9 May 1791, and died 15 Sep 1848, Royalston, MA, aged 57 years 4 months 6 days, of consumption.^[5]

He married secondly, between 1850 and 1855, Lydia Drury, daughter of Joel and Ruth (Hill) Drury. She was born 10 Nov 1795, Athol, MA, and died (under her maiden name) 1 Aug 1868, Athol, MA, aged 73 years, of consumption, "widow".^[6] She is found under her maiden name in the 1860 and 1865 censuses in Athol, MA, in the household of Isaac and Asenath (Drury) Miller, her brother-in-law and sister.
