Eleazer Spalding8 Whitney (Jonathan7, Jonathan6, Caleb5, Jonathan4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Jonathan7 and Lucy (Spalding) Whitney, was born 8 Apr 1825, Gardner or Templeton, MA, and died 27 Sep 1903, Templeton, MA, aged 75 years 5 months, of old age.[1] He was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton, MA.

Marriage intentions were published 20 Mar 1847, Templeton, MA, for him and Lucy Peckham,[2] daughter of Jotham Peckham. He married, 7 Apr 1847, Dana, MA, Lucy Peckham, daughter of Jotham and Lucy (-----) Peckham.[3] She was born 19 Jun 1827, Phillipston, MA, and died 25 Aug 1904, East Templeton, MA, aged 77 years 2 months 9 days, of heart disease.[4] She was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton, MA.

He resided East Templeton, MA.

iv. Walter Mason Whitney, b. 8 or 18 Feb 1856, Petersham, MA;[8] d. 31 Jul 1868, Templeton, MA, aged 12 years, of scrofula.[9]
v. Herbert Jonathan Whitney, b. 20 Jul 1859; "John H." d. 28 or 29 Oct 1861, Templeton, MA, aged 2 years 3 months 9 days, of diphtheria.[10]
vi. Florence Amy Whitney, b. 23 Jul 1863, Templeton, MA; m. 23 or 29 Sep 1882, Palmer, MA, or 24 Sep 1882, Templeton, MA, Daniel S. Merrill, b. ca. 1849, Orange, MA, son of James L. and Triphenia (-----) Merrill;[11] d. 4 May 1883.
