Ellerton Pratt9 Whitney (Henry Austin8, Joseph7, Joseph6, Samuel5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Henry Austin8 and Fanny (Lawrence) Whitney, was born 21 Aug 1858, Boston, MA,[1] and died 24 Feb 1928, Milton, MA.
He married, 5 Jun 1901, Gloucester, MA, or 6 Jun 1901, Magnolia, MA, or 5 Jun 1901, Magnolia, MA (recorded at Worcester, MA), Ellen Cushman Sargent, daughter of Joseph and Nellie L. (McClure) Sargent,[2] granddaughter of Joseph and Emily8 (Whitney) Sargent. She "Nellie L." was born 12 Feb 1876, Worcester, MA, and died after 1940.
They resided Blue Hill, MA.
Lived at Milton, Blue Hill Avenue, in the house his father built. 1927 at the "Capen" house, 20 Brush Hill Lane, off Brush Hill Road, Milton. He did not go to college; went to Nebraska and had a ranch there with Charley Codman for a number of years; was vice-president of Merchants and Miners Transportation Co., succeeding his father. Trustee of several large estates. He was a member of the Metropolitan Park Commission.
