Ephraim⁷ Whitney (Ephraim⁶, Nathaniel⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Ephraim⁶ and Thankful (Harrington) Whitney; born 13 May 1756, Upton, MA,^[1] and died 1 Oct 1827, Upton, MA, aged 71 years.^[2]

Marriage intentions were published 25 Jul 1778, Upton, MA, for him "Jr." and Jemima Whipple "of Grafton".^[3] He "Jr." "of Upton" married firstly, 1 Oct 1778, Grafton, MA, Jemima Whipple.^[4] She was born 1753, Grafton, MA, and died 6 Jan 1795, Upton, MA, in her 42nd year.^[5]

Marriage intentions were published 25 Apr 1795, Upton, MA, for him "Jr." and "Mrs." Joanna Sadler.^[6] He married secondly, 4 Jun 1795, Upton, MA, Joanna Sadler. She died 2 May 1839, Upton, MA, aged 76 years.^[7]

He was born in Upton, MA, worked on his father's farm, and at his death came into possession of one-half of it. He served as a soldier in the Upton Company, commanded by Capt. Woods, in the Revolutionary war. Was an honorable and genial man. He was much given to story telling, especially of the war, of which he had a great memory. He resided Upton, MA.
