Family:Whitney, Franklin L. (1833-1900)

Franklin L.⁸ Whitney (Job⁷, Job⁶ Whitney, Solomon⁵, Benjamin⁴, Thomas³, Thomas², John¹), son of Job⁷ and Sylvia (Delano) Whitney, was born 24 or 25 Jul 1833, Watertown, NY, and died 20 Aug 1900, Abrams, WI, of kidney and heart trouble. He was buried in Brookside Cemetery, Pensaukee, WI.^[1]

He married, 19 May 1861, Oconto Co., WI, Mary H. S. Chase, daughter of John M. and Minerva P. (Gates) Chase. She was born 29 Apr 1846, Lowell, ME, and died 17 Jul 1929, Abrams, WI. She was buried in Brookside Cemetery, Pensaukee, WI.^[2]

He served in the Civil War as a Sergeant, Co. G, 38th Wisconsin Infantry. He received a pension, and his widow did, too, after his death.
