George7 Whitney (Aaron6, Aaron5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Aaron6 and Sally (Flagg) Whitney, was born 29 Dec 1809, Harvard, MA,[1] and died 27 Dec 1877, Springfield, MA, aged 68 years, of Bright's disease of kidneys, market man.[2]
He married, 10 Oct 1836, Harvard, MA, Abigail Bemis,[3] daughter of Stephen and Rejoice (Wetherbee) Bemis. She was born 18 Dec 1813, Harvard, MA, and died 14 Jul 1894, Hartford, CT.
He was born in Harvard, MA, where he resided until after his marriage, when he migrated to Michigan, where he remained only a short time. Returning east, he settled in Springfield, MA, engaged in business and resided there until his death. He lived a quiet, uneventful life, never held office, and was respected by the entire community. He resided Harvard and Springfield, MA.

iv. Albert Whitney, b. 16 Feb 1841, Harvard, MA;[7] m. 1 Sep 1868, Ellen C. Jones; is a sea captain; s.p. v. Abbie E. Whitney, b. 4 Jun 1847, Springfield, MA;[8] m. 9 Jun 1869, Springfield, MA, Charles P. Chapin, of Boston, b. ca. 1830, Jamaica, VT, son of Siba and Fanny (-----) Chapin;[9] resided 62 Evergreen Ave., Somerville, MA. Children: a. Mabel W. Chapin, b. 8 Aug 1877. b. Charles Ralph Chapin, b. 12 Jun 1879; d. 5 Mar 1882. c. Carl Warren Chapin, b. 7 Mar 1883.
