George⁷ Whitney (Abel⁶, Benjamin⁵, Joseph⁴, Joseph³, Jonathan², John¹), son of Abel⁶ and Phebe (Scott) Whitney, was born 1 Sep 1812, Tunbridge, VT, and died 1865, Tunbridge, VT.

He married, 11 Apr 1839, Chelsea, VT, Arethusa Gates,^[1] daughter of Jonas and Anna (Robinson) Gates. She was born 22 Dec 1810, Greensboro, VT, and died after 1870.

He resided Tunbridge, VT.
