George⁷ Whitney (William Henry⁶, Henry⁵, Eliasaph⁴, Nathan³, John², Henry¹), son of William Henry⁶ and Sophronia (Trowbridge) Whitney, was born 7 Nov 1823, Great Barrington, MA, and died after 1910.

He married firstly, 4 Apr 1854, New York, NY, Catharine McCrary, daughter of William and Mary (Marr) McCrary, of Long Island, NY. She was born 11 Mar 1834, Philadelphia, PA, and died between 1873 and 1876.

He married secondly, before 1876, Mary Emma -----. She was born about 1852, NJ, and died after 1910.

He was a dealer in fancy goods and hosiery. He lived at Warsaw, NY, from 1839 till 10 Jan 1846; at New York, till Apr 1859; at Hudson City, NJ, till March 1867; and then retired to his farm near Haverstraw, NY, where he dwelt till Sep 1873.

George⁷ and Catharine (McCrary) Whitney had no children.
