George Carpenter7 Whitney (James6, John5, Abraham4, Joseph3, John2, Henry1), son of James6 and Nancy (Mascraft) Whitney, was born 15 Sep 1829, Albany, NY, and died after 1880.
He married, 1 Jul 1859, Brooklyn, NY, Caroline Forman, daughter of Benoni B[radner?] and Margaret (-----) Forman, of Albany and Brooklyn. She was born about 1842, NY, and died after 1870.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a silversmith, and dealer in pictures and frames . . . . They settled in Brooklyn, E.D., and dwelt there in 1868; after which he went to St. Louis, MO, where he was living, at 221 Elm Street, in Apr 1874."

Neither Caroline nor Willard is found the 1880 Census. It may be that both died before that, explaining why George moved to St. Louis.
