Family:Whitney, George Frederick (1821-1866)

George Frederick⁸ Whitney (Samuel⁷, Lemuel⁶, Ephraim⁵, Jonas⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), son of Samuel⁷ and Amelia (Hyde) Whitney, was born 24 Dec 1821, Brattleboro, VT, and died 6 Dec 1866, Brooklyn, NY.

He married, 7 Jan 1849, Woodstock, VT, Augusta P. Eaton. She was born 21 Jul 1826, and died after 1880.

He was born in Brattleboro, VT, but his early manhood was passed in Woodstock, where he was married. For several years he kept hotel, and in 1855 moved to Brooklyn, NY, where after a residence of ten years he died. After his death the family returned to Woodstock, VT. He resided Brooklyn, NY.

ii.	Mary Agusta Whitney, b. 5 Sep 1853, Woodstock, VT; m. 3 or 12 Jun 1878, Rutland, VT, James C. Barrett, son of James and Maria L. (Woodworth) Barrett.[1] b. 26 Dec 1851; d. 15 Feb 1887; resided 15 Pleasant St., Rutland, VT. He was a lawyer. Children: a. Frederick James Barrett, b. 25 Nov 1879. b. Ruth Barrett, b. 12 Jan 1881.
iii.	Ellen Amelia Whitney, b. 31 Aug 1864, VT; m. 28 Oct 1885, Dr. Deane Richmond; resided Windsor, VT. He was b. 20 Aug 1862. Children: a. Whitney J. Richmond, b. 13 Aug 1887. b. Robert K. Richmond, b. 31 Jan 1889. c. Howard K. Richmond, b. 2 Jun 1891.
