George Harmon7 Whitney (Joseph Lee6, Jeremiah5, Jeremiah4, Nathan3, John2, Henry1), son of Joseph Lee6 and Phebe (Mead) Whitney, was born 11 Jan 1817, Milo, NY, and died 15 Oct 1871, Waterford, PA.
He married, 7 Jan 1839, Pulteney, NY, Joanna McLane, daughter of George and Elizabeth (Sebring) McLane. She was born 6 Nov 1816, Benton, NY, and died after 1880.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a farmer . . . . They dwelt at Pultney for eight years; and then settled at Waterford, Penn., two and a half miles south of the village, where he died 15 Oct. 1871, and was buried in Waterford Cemetery. She was living at Waterford in May 1875."

Phebe Jane Whitney, b. 5 Oct 1841, Pulteney, NY; d. 8 Jul 1862, Waterford, PA where she was buried in Waterford Cemetery; m. 3 Feb 1858, Henry Martin, son of Jeremiah and Susan (Lunger) Martin; settled at Waterford, PA. He served in the 111th Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry during the war of 1861. iii. Mary Ann Whitney, b. 21 Jul 1843, Pulteney, NY; m. 1 Jan 1863, Waterford, PA, Charles Thompson, son of Archibald and Sarah (Clemens) Thompson, b. Waterford, PA. He m.(2) July 1875, Wattsburgh, PA, Caroline Smiley, and was living at Waterford in Sep 1875. iv. Charles Lewis Whitney, b. 11 Mar 1846, Pulteney, NY; m. Rachel Boyd. v. Eliza Lamphere Whitney, b. 10 Feb 1848, Waterford, PA; d. 23 Sep 1849, Waterford, PA, where she was buried. vi. Sarah Adeline Whitney, b. 18 Jun 1851, Waterford, PA; m. 7 Jan 1869, "Counetee", Erie Co., PA, Thomas Geer, son of Joseph and Laura (Wagerdy) Geer; a farmer. They settled at Leboeuf, PA, and were living there in Oct 1875. vii. William Lenox Whitney, b. 31 Aug 1853, Waterford, PA; m. Mary Etta Martin.
