George Lewis7 Whitney (Anson6, Josiah Anson5, Richard4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Anson6 and Mary (Phillips) Whitney, was born say 1823, Williamsburgh, Upper Canada, and died about 1852, Commerce, MI.
He married firstly, Caroline Kenyon. She died Bedford, OH.
He married secondly, 25 Apr 1852, Commerce, MI, Marietta G. Shattuck, daughter of Lyman and Julia Ann (Phelps) Shattuck. She was born 2 Aug 1834, Hamilton, NY. She married secondly, about 1855, Norman Payne.
Phoenix says the following:
- "George Lewis Whitney, b. at Williamsburgh, Upper Canada; married Caroline Kenyon, who died at Bedford, Ohio; married (2d), 25 Ap. 1852, at Commerce, Mich., Marietta Shattuck, dau. of Lyman and Julia Ann (Phelps) Shattuck, of Commerce, formerly of Hamilton, N. Y., where she was born, 2 Aug. 1834. He died at Commerce, about 1852. She married (2d) ----- Payne."
