Hananiah6 Whitney (Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Samuel5 and Abigail (Fletcher)Whitney, was born 18 Dec 1762, Westminster, MA,[1] and died 1835, Winchendon, MA.
He married, 10 Oct 1787, Ashburnham, MA, Azubah Keyes.[2] She was born 5 Jun 1767, and died 9 Apr 1832, Winchendon, MA.[3]
He was a resident of Westminster, and later was one of the tithingmen of Winchendon. During the Revolutionary war he served in one of the Winchendon companies. His will is dated 11 Oct 1833, and probated 7 Apr 1835. Capt. Mart Whitcomb was exec. He resided Westminster and Winchendon, MA.

Records show Azubah Whitney m. 15 Sep 1841, Boston, MA, Liberty Rand,[8] widower of her sister Abigail, b. 13 Nov 1806, d. 20 May 1872, Madison, WI, son of Gates Rand; resided Winchendon, MA, and Madison, WI, where he died. They had one son, Henry. v. Artemus B. Whitney, b. 1 Sep 1798, Winchendon, MA;[9] no further record found. vi. Bersina Whitney, b. 4 Feb 1801, Winchendon, MA;[10] d. 22 Jan 1802, Winchendon, MA, aged 11 months 18 days.[11] vii. Esther B. Whitney, b. 13 Jan 1803, Winchendon, MA.[12] viii. (-----) Floyd, b. ca. 1821, Philadelphia, PA.[15] Possibly the same as Levi Whitney, father of William Whitney of Salem, Danvers, Medford, and Cambridge, MA. x. Samuel Austin Whitney, b. 10 Nov 1809, Winchendon, MA;[16] m.(1) Betsey Croxford; m.(2) Sarah S. Foster; m.(3) Hannah S. (Blackmer) Johnson. xi. Abigail Fletcher Whitney, b. 27 Dec 1812, Winchendon, MA;[17] d. 4 Nov 1840; m. 30 Jun 1836, Boston, MA, Liberty Rand,[18] b. 13 Nov 1806, d. 20 May 1872, Madison, WI, son of Gates Rand. Possibly the same as Abby Whitney, who d. 9 Sep 1840, Winchendon, MA.[19] They had two children.
