Family:Whitney, Henry (1794-1875)
Henry7 Whitney (Isaiah6, Isaiah5, Isaiah4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Isaiah6 and Dorcas (Whitman) Whitney, was born 26 Oct 1794, Rindge, NH,[1] and died 22 Nov 1875, Burlington, VT.
He married, 30 Aug 1821, Vergennes, VT, Mary Golding, daughter of ----- and Rachel (-----) Golding. She was born 8 Nov 1799, and died 28 Mar 1875, Burlington, VT.
Henry Whitney, at his death, was one of the oldest residents in Burlington. He first went to that city from Rindge, NH. After a short residence there he returned to Rindge, and in 1816 returned to Burlington, where he ever after resided. Mr. Whitney was a man of many excellent traits of character. Quiet, unassuming in his ways, he was yet firm in his notions of duty and right. He was an honest and upright man, of kindly temper, and probably had not an enemy in the world. He left four children: Mrs. Minor S. Martin, of Brooklyn, CA,[2] Mrs. Noah Allen, Burlington, VT, George Isaiah Whitney, now in New York, and Charles Howard Whitney, of Burlington, VT. Mr. Whitney was one of the oldest members of Washington Lodge, F. A. M. and his funeral took place with Masonic honors. He resided Burlington, VT.
