Henry Platt7 Whitney (Eliasaph6, Josiah5, Eliasaph4, Nathan3, John2, Henry1), son of Eliasaph6 and Angeline (Lounsbury) Whitney, was born 15 Oct 1828, Darien, CT, and died 1911, Darien, CT.
He married firstly, 23 Oct 1853, Darien, CT, Hannah Maria Brown, of Haverstraw, NY. She was born about 1836, and died before 1867.
He married secondly, about 1867, Sarah A. (Capes) Dickerman, daughter of William and Sarah (Carter) Capes. She was born May 1829, CT, and died 1919, Darien, CT. She had married firstly, about 1847, William Frederick Dickerman (1822-1864).
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a carriage-maker . . . . He enlisted at Darien, 8 Aug. 1862, in Co. B, 17th Reg., Conn. Vol. Infantry; and served for three years. He lived at Darien in June 1874."
