Hezekiah Wells6 Whitney (Walter5, Samuel4, Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of Walter5 and Anah (Wells) Whitney, was born 3 Jan 1785, Fairfield, CT, and died 27 Oct 1850, Milwaukee, WI, in his 66th year. He was buried in Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee, WI.
He married firstly, 1805, Rebecca McWilliams. She died in Greenbush, NY, and was buried in Bethlehem, NY.
He married secondly, 1815, Chloe Williams of Schoharie, NY, daughter of David and Rebecca (-----) Williams. She was born 9 Oct 178-, CT, and died 9 May 1866, Milwaukee, WI.
Phoenix says the following:
- "Hezekiah Wells Whitney, b. at Fairfield, Conn., 3 Jan. 1785; a farmer; married in 1805, Rebecca McWilliams, of Bethlehem, N. Y. They settled two miles below Albany, in Greenbush, N. Y., where she died. She was buried near her father, in Bethlehem. He married (2d), in 1815, Chloe Williams, of Schoharie, N. Y., born in Conn., 9 Oct. 178[-], dau. of David and Rebecca Williams. In 1828, he moved to Albany, and engaged in manufacturing curled hair, and dealing in pelts; and, about 1848, they moved to Milwaukee, Wis., and there died (he 27 Oct. 1850, in his 66th year; she, 9 May 1866), and were buried in Forest Home Cemetery."
