Family:Whitney, Jesse (1794-1849)
Jesse7 Whitney (Joel6, Jonas5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Joel6 and Lydia (Willard) Whitney, was born 8 Nov 1794, Fitzwilliam, NH,[1] and died 4 Jul 1849, OH, of typhoid fever.
He married 12 May 1825, Hamilton, Butler Co., OH, Martha Flowers.[2] She died before 5 Sep 1849, Hancock Co., OH [sic: she was living at the 1850 and 1860 censuses], or 13 Jun 1869, Lucas Co., OH.
With his brother Joel he went to Ohio, where he married and followed agricultural pursuits. He amassed quite a fortune. Resided in Ohio.

(son) Whitney, b. say 1832; deduced from 1840 census; not in family in 1850; possibly the same as Ephraim Whitney, farmer, aged 18, born in OH, who died 1849-1850 in Hancock Co., OH, of typhoid fever. v. Martha Whitney, b. 4 Sep 1833, OH; d. 20 Nov 1872; m. 20 Mar 1851, Hancock Co., OH, John Osenbaugh. vi. Elizabeth Whitney, b. ca. 1836, OH; living 1850; no further record found. vii. Joel Whitney, b. ca. 1839, OH; living 1860; no further record found. viii. Amanda Whitney, b. ca. 1841, OH; m. 1 Aug 1861, Hancock Co., OH, Henry Mohr. ix. Harriet E.
