Family:Whitney, Joel (1762-1842)
Joel6 Whitney (Jonas5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Jonas5 and Zebudah (Davis) Whitney, was born 15 Oct 1762, Harvard, MA,[1] and died 1 Feb 1842, Fitzwilliam, NH.
He married, 1786, Rindge, NH, Lydia Willard. She was born 6 Mar 1786, Harvard, MA, and died 8 Jan 1856, Sublette, IL.
While in the employ of Rev. Seth Payson at Rindge, New Hampshire, he met his future wife, who was a member of the minister's family. She was smart, active, intelligent, and unusually neat.
