John Whitney, parentage unknown, born say 1700, died about 1756.
He married Hannah Davies. She was buried 1780.
John Whitney was an apothecary in Swansea. He was admitted as Burgess of Swansea in 1746.
Children of John and Hannah (Davies) Whitney, possibly incomplete, order uncertain:
i. Ann Whitney, bp. 1728, bur. 1793. ii. Eleanor Whitney, bp. 1737, m. 1773, David Hopkin. iii. Martha Whitney, bp. 1741, bur. 1820. iv. Thomas Whitney, apparently died young. v. Walter Whitney, apparently died young. vi. William Whitney, apparently died young.

The Whitney family of John Whitney and Hannah (née Davies). These papers relate to the legal and personal affairs of John Whitney and of his descendants. John Whitney was an apothecary in Swansea. He was admitted as Burgess of Swansea in 1746 and died around 1756. He married Hannah Davies (bur. 1780) and the collection also includes papers relating to her brothers Lewis, Owen and Thomas and Thomas' wife Martha. Other papers relate to the children of John and Hannah, namely Ann (baptised 1728, buried 1793), Eleanor (baptised 1737, married David Hopkin in 1773) and Martha (baptised 1741, buried1820). There were also three sons Thomas, Walter and William who all appear to have died at a young age.
