John Chadbourn7 Whitney (Robinson6, Amos5, Amos4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Robinson6 and Elsie (Chadbourne)(Sherbourne) Whitney, was born 26 May 1816, Newburgh, ME (recorded in Dixmont, ME),[1] and died 5 Dec 1875, Dixmont, ME.

He married, 14 Apr 1846, Penobscot Co., ME, Mary S. Folsom, daughter of Benjamin and Sarah (Chadbourn) Folsom. She was born 26 Jun 1822, Newburgh, ME (recorded in Dixmont, ME),[2] and died 1 Mar 1896, prob. Dixmont, ME.

John was a farmer, and resided in Newburgh and Dixmont, ME.

Both John and Mary are buried in the Bean Cemetery in Dixmont, ME. John's grave marker says he died on 1 December or 4 December 1875, but his probate record indicates he died on 5 December 1875. Mary is found in some records as Mary A. Folsom or Fulsom.

iv. Sarah H. Whitney, b. 1 Aug 1851, Newburgh, ME (recorded in Dixmont, ME);[7] d. after 1900, then unmarried.
