Family:Whitney, John Edward (1838-1933)

John Edward⁸ Whitney (John⁷, Mellen⁶, Elias⁵, Elias⁴, Jonathan³, Benjamin², John¹), son of John⁷ and Mary (Banker) Whitney, was born 20 Mar 1837 or 1838, Clinton CO., NY, and died 18 Nov 1933, Seattle, WA.^[1]

He married firstly, 1859-1860, Jane E. Thompson, daughter of William and Mary Ruth (Alford) Thompson. She was born about 1837, Peasleeville, NY, and died after 1880.

He married secondly, 31 Oct 1887, Livingston Co., IL, Louisa A. (Richey) Wharton, daughter of William and Martha (Myers) Ritchin.^[2] She was born Apr 1850, IN, and died 1913. She was buried in Fairbury Cemetery, Fairbury, NE.^[3] She had married firstly, William H. Wharton, by whom she had four children, including Ella, Frank, and Bert.

John Edward⁸ and Louisa A. (Richey)(Wharton) Whitney had no children.
