John McCall6 Whitney (Benjamin5, John4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Benjamin5 and Ann Mercy (Harris) Whitney, was born 17 Aug 1803, Springfield Center, NY, and died 10 Sep 1870, New York Mills, NY.

He married 17 Jan 1828, Boonville, NY, Mary Ann McCluskey, daughter of James and Eleanor (Marshall) McCluskey. She was born 12 Apr 1800, co. Tyrone, Ireland, and died 5 Nov 1869, New York Mills, NY, aged 69 years of consumption.[1]

Phoenix says the following:

John McCall Whitney, b. in Springfield Centre, N.Y., 17 Aug. 1803; a farmer; moved with his father, to Mexico, N.Y.; married, 17 Jan. 1828, at Boonville, N.Y., by Rev. Mr. Barnes, to Mary Ann McCluskey, who was born in Co. Tyrone, Ireland, "forty miles north-west of Dublin," 12 Ap. 1800, dau. of James and Eleanor (Marshall) McCluskey, and came to this country, with her parents, in 1821. They lived at Taberg, in Annsville, N.Y., about two years; then at Mexico, about four years; then at Boonville, till 5 Oct. 1845, when they moved to New York Mills, N.Y.; and there passed the remainder of their lives. They were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church for about thirty years. She died, 5 Nov. 1869, "aged 69 years;" he, 10 Sept. 1870; they were buried at New York Mills.

vi. Eleanor Whitney, b. 22 Feb 1837, Booneville, NY; m. William Smith.
vii. Lydia Whitney, b. 25 Sep 1839, Boonville, NY; d. 1 Sep 1847, New York Mills, NY; bur. there.
viii. Isabella Whitney, b. 25 May 1841, Boonville, NY; m. William Rittenour.
ix. John Marshall Whitney, b. 27 Aug 1843, Boonville, NY; m.(1) Elizabeth Jane Barnes; m.(2) Mary Ellen Simmons.
