Capt. Levi7 Whitney (Reuben6, Abel5, Nathan4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Reuben6 and Mercy (Baker) Whitney, was born 26 Nov 1800, Litchfield, ME,[1] and died 20 Feb 1881, Richmond, ME.

Marriage intentions were filed 25 May 1822, Standish, ME, for him and Hannah Whitney, "both of Standish".[2] He married firstly, say 1822, Litchfield, ME, Hannah Whitney. She was born in Standish, ME, according to son Isaac's and daughter Jane's death records. This makes it very likely that she was identical to Levi's first cousin Hannah7 Whitney, daughter of Nathaniel6 and Zilpah (Martin) Whitney, born 14 Oct 1796, Standish, ME. She died before 1836.

Marriage intentions were published 28 Oct 1836, Bowdoinham, ME, for him "Captain" "of Richmond" and "Miss" Mary Hutchins "of Bowdoinham".[3] He "of Richmond" married secondly, 8 or 23 Oct 1836, Bowdoinham, ME, Mary Hutchings "of Bowdoinham",[4] daughter of John and Nancy (Boynton) Hutchins.[5] She was born 25 Apr 1815, Olney, ME, and died 25 Sep 1903, Gloucester, MA, aged 88 years 6 months, of lobar pneumonia.[6]

He allegedly married thirdly, Henrietta Rogers, but this was undoubtedly his son Gorham, not he.

He was a cooper and a carpenter by trade. He resided Richmond, ME.

Mary resided 257 Washington St., Gloucester, MA, at death.

v. Jane Allen Whitney, b. 29 Aug 1831, Richmond, ME; d. 10 Feb 1884, Boston, MA, aged 51 years, of consumption;[7] m. 21 Jun 1854, Portland, ME, Benjamin F. "Frank" Thomas, both of Portland.
