Family:Whitney, Matthias (1720-a1770)
Matthias4 Whitney (Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of Cornelius3 and Sarah (?Shepard?) Whitney,[1] was born 26 May 1720, Groton, MA,[2] and died after 1770, when his son was called Matthias Whitney, "Jr."[3]
He married before 1743, Killingly, CT, Alice Robbins,[4] daughter of Samuel and Dorothy (Barrett) Robbins (and sister of John Robbins who married Matthias's sister Abigail Whitney).[5] She was baptized 28 Jul 1723, Killingly, CT,[6] and died after 1764.[7]
The will of Samuel Robbins, 4 Sep 1764, mentions "Alice Whitney, wife of Matthias Whitney, a 5th daughter." Matthias Whitney of Killingly, CT, was one of the appraisers of his estate.
