Family:Whitney, Nathan (1804-1856)
Nathan7 Whitney (David6, Samuel5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of David6 and Betsey (Darby) Whitney, was born 30 Jul 1804, Bolton, MA, and died 6 Nov 1856, Townsend, MA, aged 52 years 3 months 7 days, of typhoid fever.[1]
He married firstly, 25 Feb 1827, Eliza Stevens, daughter of Solomon Stevens. She was born 25 Nov 1807, and died 1 Feb 1852, Townsend, MA, aged 64 years 2 months 5 days, of inflammation of the bowels.[2]
Marriage intentions were published 22 Sep 1855, Townsend, MA, for him and Dora Prescott.[3] He "of Townsend" married secondly, 25 Sep 1855, Boston, MA, Dora Prescott "of Roxbury", daughter of Jonathan Prescott. She was born about 1810.[4]
Nathan Whitney was born in Bolton, where he passed nearly his whole life. Before his father's death David divided his estate between his sons Nathan and Joseph, and they resided on the old homestead. He resided Bolton and Townsend, MA.
On 30 Apr 1838, he became a church member of the church in Lancaster, at the same time as his brother Joseph.[5]
