Rufus B.8 Whitney (Timothy7, Simon6, Timothy5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Timothy7 and Lucy (Bryant) Whitney, was born about Jun 1820, Essex, VT, and died 13 Mar 1889, Somerville, MA, aged 68 years 9 months, of nephritis.[1]
He married firstly, 28 Aug 1848, Dracut, MA, Jane Coburn Varnum, daughter of Jeremiah and Mehitable (Ford) Varnum.[2] She was born 23 May 1826, Dracut, MA, and died 15 Jan 1882, Lowell, MA, aged 55 years 8 months 10 days, of apoplexy.[3]
He [recorded as Whiting], of Lowell, MA, married secondly, 14 Jun 1883, Newburyport, MA, Mary Ann R. (Currier) Lombard, of Boston, MA, daughter of David and Hannah (-----) Currier.[4] She was born May 1833, Salisbury, MA, and died after 1900. She had married firstly, 22 Nov 1855, Newburyport, MA, James Lombard.[5]

i. Fred Augustus9 Whitney, b. 18 Aug 1860, Dracut, MA;[6] d. 3 Sep 1860, Dracut, MA, aged 16 days, of canker.[7]
Rufus B.8 and Mary Ann R. (Currier)(Lombard) Whitney had no children.
