He married Billisent -----. She was born circa 1801, VT, and died after 1875.
Note:His birth location and appearance in the 1830 census might suggest he is a son of Isaac Whitney. In 1860, he was listed as a Cooper.

i. Royal Edwin Whitney, b. 13 June 1827, Lisbon, NY; m. Martha Paulina Wilcox. ii. Horace J. Whitney, b. ca. 1829, NY; living 1850; not found in 1860, 1870, or 1880. iii. Samuel N. Whitney, b. ca. 1833, NY. In 1870 he was listed as Samuel R., apparently unmarried. Not found in 1880.
