Samuel5 Whitney (Eleazer4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Eleazer4 and Mary (Grow) Whitney, was born 2 Dec 1746, Westborough, MA,[1] and died Alstead, NH.[2]

Samuel married, 5 Nov 1776, Westborough, MA, Lavinia Bigelow,[3] daughter of Samuel and Phebe (Rand) Bigelow. She was born 1 Feb 1756, Shrewsbury, MA.

Pierce says the following:[4]

He was in the Revolutionary war in the Westboro company.

Children of Samuel5 and Lavinia (Bigelow) Whitney:

i. Martha6 Whitney, b. say 1778; m. 21 Nov 1811, Paxton, MA, Jacob Earle, both "of Paxton".[5]
ii. (prob.) Samuel Whitney, b. say 1785, Alstead, NH; m. Frances Goodenow.
